WEEK 5 - DONE
I ran for 20 minutes straight tonight. It was supposed to be 2 miles, but when I mapped it out it was only 1.63. That's a 12.26 minute/mile pace. For the first long run, I'll take it. Next week the runs are back to intervals, but then weeks 7, 8 and 9 are all long runs. I still can't believe that I ran for 20 minutes without stopping. It was a little bit difficult, but really, it wasn't that bad. Completing this run really solidified for me that I'll be able to complete the 5K. The last three minutes were definitely a mental battle, my mind wanted to quit but my body was pretty much ok. Then my ipod saved me:
