Bring on the hoodies!
Last night I started week 5 of couch to 5K. The runs are starting to get more difficult now, although I found last night to be fairly easy. Here's how it went:
5 minute walking warm up
5 minute run
3 minute walk
5 minute run
3 minute walk
5 minute run
5:30 cool down
I didn't have any issues, no cramping, no stopping during the running. I felt great at the end. I can't believe that a month ago I was worried about running for 90 seconds straight and now I'm running 5 full minutes and barely checking my watch. The next run includes 8 minute intervals of running. I'm nervous but I know after coming this far that I'll be able to do it. The following run is a straight 20 minute run. That one I'm terrified of, but also excited? So strange to me to be excited about running.
Last night I didn't get outside until after 7pm and at that time it was still light out but by the time I finished the sun had set and the street lights were on. The days are getting shorter, cooler, and fall is on it's way. It is my favorite season and I can't wait for it. I love getting back into jeans and sweatshirts on cold nights. I love the holidays and the fall activities. I will also love not running in 90 degree days with 90% humidity! But for now I'm still enjoying what's left of summer. Tomorrow will probably be the last BBQ of the season since I have a wedding to go to on Labor Day weekend. Looking forward to spending time with some family that I haven't seen in a while. Maybe I'll take some pictures... I hate writing posts without photos but I have been slacking!
Happy Friday!
